2nd Roar [Voice/Action] More like a Whimper
[Ever since his arrival to Luceti Simba has been plagued with occasional nightmares. However, lately they've been getting worse and more frequent. In House 45, some whimpering and moaning can be heard from where Simba usually sleeps on the floor. His legs twitch as if he's running in his dreams, and eventually wakes up screaming.]
NOOOOOOOO!
[He looks around in a panic, ears plastered against his head as he pants. Eventually he realizes where he has and starts to calm down. Using a paw to brush some tears away, his eyes then fall on his nearby journal. Needing someone to talk to, he pulls it over and opens it up. It's really early in the morning at this point and he's not sure if anyone will be awake but... he'll try anyway. He stammers a bit as he talks to the book.]
Is anyone there?

Is anyone there?
[voice]
M'here...
[That probably came out sounding more tired than it intended, but he'll make the effort to talk anyway. Whoever was on the other end, they sound a little upset...]
[voice]
Hi. Did I wake you up?
[voice]
S'just a bit cold and all. Everything okay?
[voice]
I had a bad dream.
[voice]
[Poor kid. That probably explains why they're up so late. He's still a bit tired, but Rudy will try to speak reassuringly anyway.]
... Hey, it's okay now. Is it something you'd like to talk about?
[voice]
[He's kept it in this long, but it's been really hard. He didn't exactly have the whole Hakuna Matata thing going for him here, after all.]
[voice]
[Rudy definitely knows the feeling of not wanting to talk about something in detail, so he won't push the subject if they're not comfortable.]
But you know, it's all right now. You're safe and that's what matters. Right?
[voice]
[Something that's been weighing heavily on him for a while now.]
[voice]
[And that's something Rudy picks up on fairly quickly enough. He frowns... it must be really serious.]
[voice]
[So yeah, it is pretty serious. He's just having a hard time getting the words out. It's a pretty sensitive subject after all.]
[voice]
[Upon hearing that, Rudy falls silent for a good moment. This was a pretty heavy subject indeed...]
... Do you want to talk about it?
[There's a noticeably concerned tone in his voice. Rudy doesn't want to push this kid, but he'll ask again just to make sure. Whether or not they want to, he's at least willing to listen.]
[voice]
It... it was my dad.
[voice]
I'm sorry. [Briefly, he'll fall silent.] That must have been really difficult... I don't know what happened, but I'm sure it wasn't your fault.
Re: [voice]
It had to be. If it wasn't me, whose fault could it be?
[voice]
[Rudy closes his eyes, recalling a memory from a long time ago. A harsh one he hasn't forgotten after all this time.]
Losing someone... sometimes something like that really isn't anyone's fault at all. It's easy to blame ourselves when that happens, especially if it happens to someone you love. But you know... that doesn't make it your fault.
[voice]
[That's just one thing you can't forget. When someone tells you its your fault.]
[voice]
... Who said that?
