2nd Roar [Voice/Action] More like a Whimper

[Ever since his arrival to Luceti Simba has been plagued with occasional nightmares. However, lately they've been getting worse and more frequent. In House 45, some whimpering and moaning can be heard from where Simba usually sleeps on the floor. His legs twitch as if he's running in his dreams, and eventually wakes up screaming.]

NOOOOOOOO!

[He looks around in a panic, ears plastered against his head as he pants. Eventually he realizes where he has and starts to calm down. Using a paw to brush some tears away, his eyes then fall on his nearby journal. Needing someone to talk to, he pulls it over and opens it up. It's really early in the morning at this point and he's not sure if anyone will be awake but... he'll try anyway. He stammers a bit as he talks to the book.]

Is anyone there?

[Simba hesitated. It was a pretty difficult subject to talk about, but he'd be struggling with his own guilt and sadness ever since he came here. And the nightmares just kept coming.]

It... it was my dad.

[voice]

[His dad... With Simba's words from earlier, it doesn't take long for Rudy to put two and two together. When it comes to close family dying, hardly anyone here were strangers to that subject. Rudy was no exception.]

I'm sorry. [Briefly, he'll fall silent.] That must have been really difficult... I don't know what happened, but I'm sure it wasn't your fault.

[Simba just couldn't be convinced of those words, as well meaning as they were. His Uncle's words continue to ring in his mind, telling him that because of him his dad was dead.]

It had to be. If it wasn't me, whose fault could it be?

Sometimes...

[Rudy closes his eyes, recalling a memory from a long time ago. A harsh one he hasn't forgotten after all this time.]

Losing someone... sometimes something like that really isn't anyone's fault at all. It's easy to blame ourselves when that happens, especially if it happens to someone you love. But you know... that doesn't make it your fault.
