2nd Roar [Voice/Action] More like a Whimper

[Ever since his arrival to Luceti Simba has been plagued with occasional nightmares. However, lately they've been getting worse and more frequent. In House 45, some whimpering and moaning can be heard from where Simba usually sleeps on the floor. His legs twitch as if he's running in his dreams, and eventually wakes up screaming.]

NOOOOOOOO!

[He looks around in a panic, ears plastered against his head as he pants. Eventually he realizes where he has and starts to calm down. Using a paw to brush some tears away, his eyes then fall on his nearby journal. Needing someone to talk to, he pulls it over and opens it up. It's really early in the morning at this point and he's not sure if anyone will be awake but... he'll try anyway. He stammers a bit as he talks to the book.]

Is anyone there?

... he died.

[Simba tries to fight back the tears that threaten to come.]

And it's my fault.

[Double ouch. His own issues with his so-called father aside, a rock could empathize with this child's plight.]

I am sorry.

But somehow I doubt that it is your fault.

[He hesitates, then continues.]

Should I come to you?

[Simba isn't so sure of that, but doesn't say so.]

Sure, if you want to.

What is your house number?

It's 45 I think...

[Yeah that sounds right. ... And Simba will be waiting just outside when he gets there.]

I shall be there shortly.

[Loki shuts the journal, then takes a few moments to pull on his coat and make certain he's dressed properly. Then he simply walks out the front door. As soon as he crosses the threshold he teleports the short distance to house 45.

He gives Simba a kind smile.]

[Simba will be waiting for the guy just outside of the house. He didn't want to wake up Dash or Pinkie after all. So then Simba sees him, he gives the guy a weak smile.]

Hey.

[Loki approaches, then sits.]

We probably ought to be introduced. I am Loki. What is your name?

[Oh right. Names and stuff.]

I'm Simba.

All right, Simba. 'tis nice to meet you.

This dream of yours sounds quite unpleasant.

Y-yeah. I've been having it a lot, actually.

I see. Then it must be something that plagues you. What is it that bothers you so?

Well it's just... I did something terrible.

If you wish to speak of it, I will listen. But you do not have to if you don't wish it.

[Simba is unsure for a few moments but eventually he blurts it out.]

M-my dad. He died... because of me.

[Loki's expression remains calm and sympathetic.] Perhaps you ought to tell me the whole story then. I am sure 'tis much more complex than that.

[And so he does, telling Loki the entire story of the wildebeest stampeded from his point of view, up until the hyenas chased him into the desert.]

[Loki listens intently, nodding when it's appropriate.]

It sounds as if you were a victim of circumstance. As was, really, your father.

But... Even Uncle Scar said it was my fault. If it hadn't been for me, he'd still be alive.

[The eyebrows go up. Who would say that sort of thing to a child?]

Really, did everyone else agree with him?

Um, well... there wasn't anyone else there.

Ah, so he is the only one who saw.

...perhaps this question is odd, but what is his position now, with your father deceased and you in such a terrible position?
