pantheraleo | 1st Roar [Action/Video]

[The last thing Simba had known, he was in the desert, newly exiled from the Pridelands. He had wandered for what felt like forever before passing out from sheer exhaustion and dehydration. Now, he was slumped on the rooftop of Luceti's schoolhouse, snoozing away with his journal acting as a pillow. Eventually the cub began to stir, and as he did so, leaned to far to the side.

He was suddenly wide awake as the little lion began to tumble and roll down the side of the roof. Desperately trying to stop himself, Simba's claws scratched and scrabbled for purchase, taking some shingles with him as he went. The inevitable occured and he went sailing off the edge, with his claws finally hooking in, causing Simba to dangle several feet above the ground. His journal had fallen as well, hitting the ground in such a way that it came open and triggered the video feed.

Those watching the journals will have a ground view of the cub as he dangles from the school's roof.

Eyes wide in terror, Simba tries to get himself back up before he falls, but to no avail. Quickly his mind goes back to a recent incident where he clung to the spindly remains of a tree while wildebeest thundered past him. Tears spring to his eyes, for he knows his dad won't be there to rescue him this time. So he does the only thing he can think to do, and screams.]

[Aang is walking through town when he sees several shingles followed by the journal falling to the ground. He looks up and... sees a struggling animal. That is calling for help. The wings are his first clue that it isn't just a native animal of Luceti. Within a moment, he air-hops up to the roof]

Need help, little guy?

[Simba's eyes go wide as he watches someone... something... spring up onto the roof.]

Uh... yeah. Kinda.

[And soon would be preferable!]

[Aang screws up his face for a second, trying to scrutinize the situation, than he holds out a hand towards the strange cub.]

Then grab my... hand?

[Simba stares at Aang's for a moment before taking action. Letting go with one of his paws, he reaches to grab Aang's hand... with claws extended.]

[Aang's a little spooked by this, but he reaches past the claws to grab Simba by... would they count as ankles? Whatever happened, he then pulled Simba back onto the roof.]

There ya go!

[Pulled onto the roof, Simba pants for a bit as he tries to calm down, looking down over the edge of the roof. Wow, that would have been a long fall.]

Th-thanks, I guess I owe you one.

No problem, I like to help people. You must be new here. My name's Aang.

Yeah, I guess I am. My name's Simba.

What are you anyway? Some kind of monkey?

[He looks kinda like one.]

Nice to meet you, Simba. [And Simba's question is both weird and funny to Aang.] I'm no monkey, I'm a person.

A person, huh? Never heard of them before.

[He still looks like a bald monkey.]

You never heard of people? But they're always around with animals. We're also called humans.

Nope, I've never seen anything like you before.

[If people were supposed to be around animals, they sure weren't in his world. Or at least his part of it.]

Oh. That's weird. But now you know one! And what kind of creature are you?

[Simba puffs out his chest a bit in pride.]

I'm a lion.

[And this would probably be the point where he'd brag about being king one day... but... well. At this thought Simba deflates again.]

Just a lion, huh? That's pretty neat. [As long as you don't eat him.] I've only seen moose-lions before, myself.

[This... is more than a little confusing. Just a lion? What's that supposed to mean? ... Moose-lion? Simba stares.]

What's that?

Well a saber-tooth moose lion kinda looks like you but furrier and brown furred. Also it has big antlers and two big teeth. Sokka met a baby one once and named him Foofoo Cuddlypoops.

[Simba makes a face at this description, because that just sounds... like a -really- weird animal. But the last bit gets him the most.]

What kinda name is that?

It's a Sokka name. To be fair, he did look very cuddly. He actually wasn't that much smaller than you!

Yeah well, I'm not cuddly or cute, okay?

[He definitely doesn't want a name like that.]

I don't know about cuddly, but maybe cute! But you're new here, right Simba?

[He is not cute! X[ Okay maybe he is, but Simba is not admitting to it!]

Yeah, I guess. I've never been here before.

Well I'll gladly show you around and explain things to you if you want! I work at the Welcome Center.

Okay, sure.

[He didn't really know what a Welcome Center was, but that's cool.]

Great. ... I guess we should get down from this roof first, huh? [He stretches out his arms.] I guess I'll... carry you down?
