2nd Roar [Voice/Action] More like a Whimper

[Ever since his arrival to Luceti Simba has been plagued with occasional nightmares. However, lately they've been getting worse and more frequent. In House 45, some whimpering and moaning can be heard from where Simba usually sleeps on the floor. His legs twitch as if he's running in his dreams, and eventually wakes up screaming.]

NOOOOOOOO!

[He looks around in a panic, ears plastered against his head as he pants. Eventually he realizes where he has and starts to calm down. Using a paw to brush some tears away, his eyes then fall on his nearby journal. Needing someone to talk to, he pulls it over and opens it up. It's really early in the morning at this point and he's not sure if anyone will be awake but... he'll try anyway. He stammers a bit as he talks to the book.]

Is anyone there?

[Well, Sora's definitely woken up by that. He instantly falls out of his bed and turns to his journal. Wait, he knew that voice. Getting on the journal, Sora starts talking.]

Simba? Is everything okay?

[Now there's someone he's glad to see. Simba actually likes Sora. He's a pretty cool guy.]

Oh, hey Sora. I just... couldn't sleep.

It sounded like you were having a bad dream. Do you want to talk about it?

[Fortunately Sora is someone he knows he can trust. While he wasn't able to talk about it before... Simba is a little more open about it now.]

Yeah, it was. I... I was dreaming about my dad.

Your dad?...What kind of dream was it?

The same one... it's always the same.

[Not that Sora would know this, but well...]

The wildebeest... he tried to save me... and... and...

[He puts a paw over his face, trying not to cry.]

It's all my fault.

[Oh but Simba...this is starting to sound really familiar.]

Wait, Wildebeast? Simba what happened? Tell me everything.

[Because if this is what he thinks it is...]

I roared, and the wildebeest just came out of nowhere. My dad saved me but he... he fell. And he died.

Huh? You-?

[But Sora stops. His father died? ...Noooooooow he's remembering. Simba, at least, when he's older, told him, Donald and Goofy about what happened. However, they learned that someone else took Simba's dad's life.]

No, Simba! You didn't do anything!

[But, should he say anything about the actual killer?]

[Simba is a little startled by Sora's outburst and appropriately confused.]

Huh? What do you mean?

The stampede wasn't your fault! It was Scar's! He was trying to steal your dad's throne and get rid of you too!

[Simba is stunned by this.]

W-what? How do you know? Why would he do something like that?

[He couldn't quite believe it.]

Because, I know you when you're older. We had to defeat Scar to save your Kingdom. And I he did it because he wanted your dad's throne.

But... but.

[This is a lot for Simba to take in.]

[And Sora just realizes that, just now.]

Simba...

[He takes a pause.]

You don't have to believe me, but I want you to know not to feel like it was your fault...

[Simba is quiet for several moments, not sure what to say. He didn't think Sora was lying but... He folds his ears back. It was hard not to think of it as his fault, though.]
